Knock the socks off your customers with a show-stopping online shop. Jump on trends in a handful of clicks, attract customers, fill baskets to the brim, cinch those checkouts, and grow your ecommerce brand.
Just like a retail shop floor, our websites are built to be merchandised. We help your customers find colourful jewellery for their next festival escape, Christmas gifts for their gardening grandad, and the most fancy of refreshments for their upcoming birthday picnic.
We’re obsessed with building you tools and implementing features that allow you to make the most of trends, seasons, and creative ideas. Let’s move every visitor towards that checkout together.
Our web design process ditches layers of bureaucracy and endless unread documentation, focusing more fivers on getting products in baskets.
We don’t need to tell you that a great-looking website will impress your customers, but we do need to tell you that our ecommerce websites are total stunners.
SEO may be a long game, but we love a sprint start – our websites come with a solid SEO foundation and expert support to bring your brand oodles of traffic.
UX is one of our many jams, which is why we implement best practice principles, minimise friction & distractions, and just make it easier for your customers to shop.
A website without accessibility is like having a shop step without a trusty fold-up ramp – that’s why we minimise barriers and make your store more inclusive.
Say goodbye to shoehorning into awkward toggles and essay descriptions because we’re gonna create a totally custom setup for every nugget your customer needs.
Launching products, curating collections, seasonal promos and social trend hopping – we know you’ll wanna move quickly, so we build websites that keep up your pace.
From Klaviyo to MailChimp to Flodesk & more, we can hook our small business websites up to all the systems you need for ecommerce success.
A chore to write and dull to look at? Never. We build a suite of bespoke templates for creating engaging, creative, and commercial blog content.
If we could fit more screen sizes on our desks, we would – but for now we’ll stick to scrutinising and optimising every pixel for mobiles, tablets, laptops, and desktops.
Your website comes with a pair of comprehensive-yet-concise custom training videos, plus ad-hoc video tutorials whenever you and your team need them.
Every website is designed, built, and managed by our small team in the centre of Bristol. No off-shoring, no third-parties, yes to occasional pop-ins-for-a-latte.
Working with Studio Cotton feels like having a team that not only built my amazing website but always keeps on top of any issues, updates, and improvements
We’re all about businesses and brands that just make the world a little bit nicer.
We want to help spread small moments of joy, and and we want to help spread waves of change. From a lifestyle store that turns a new flat into a well-loved home, to the next big sustainable swap – if it’s good and nice and kind – count us in.
Maybe most importantly, we’re here for small. For small independent businesses, for small teams, for small beginnings – and for your epic success.
You’ll find our website design studio nestled in a cute brown storefront in Bristol’s Old City.
We’re a proudly independent business, and a small team of keeners, nerds, and art kids all striving to apply our knowledge and creativity to your small business.
We LOVE working with Aime and the team at Studio Cotton. She is always full of brilliant ideas and knows what we need and when we need it.
Our ecommerce website packages start at around £12,500, with a typical project budget around £17,000.
We very occasionally take on smaller web design projects – especially for projects, causes, and products that catch our eye or add new skills to our team.
If you’d like to view our packages in full, or discuss working together, we’d love to hear from you.
We can’t wait to share more than just our best ecommerce-based puns.
We’ve collected common questions we’ve received over the years, but we also know that every project is different and you probably need to know something that we’ve not yet written up.
If you have any questions at all, no matter how small, we’d love to answer.
Yes, we don't lock anything down - anything we can edit or add, you can edit or add too.
But.
Whilst we very much encourage our clients to manage their website text and images, we highly recommend leaving the web design & technical jobs to us. Unlike an out-of-the-box website, your bespoke site has a tonne of custom-made moving parts, and sometimes what seems like a small edit can have pretty serious consequences, especially on tablets & phones.
That's also why our recommended maintenance plan (which you get for 12 months included your website package) comes with 20 minutes of human-time from our team each month - perfect for small web design additions, tweaks, and changes.
Imagery. We ask that all clients have a bank of professional-quality brand photography or illustrations for their website project, as, to put it bluntly, it's incredibly difficult to create a stunning website without professional imagery.
Branding-wise, we find that projects are most successful when we're provided with a comprehensive brand identity. However, we're often able to work our website magic from limited brand references. If you can provide your logo and some font and colour references (like a previous website or social media content), we can often adapt and expand your elements into a fully-fleshed out and beautiful website.
Whilst our website packages do not include copywriting as standard, we do provide text prompts throughout. For this reason, we prefer to be provided with website copy after at least the initial design phase.
Your website needs hosting, security, software licenses, and regular technical updates to remain online and available to your customers. We bundle 12 months of these costs into the initial website project price, and continue to offer these as a maintenance package of approx. £80+VAT per month (billed annually).
The best performing websites are those that receive regular, proactive additions and optimisations - especially when it comes to staying competitive with SEO.
With this in mind, we recommend clients budget somewhere from 1-4 days per month of website time, whether that's in-house or via a website management retainer. We're always happy to make recommendations and suggest some website-growing homework!
No.
We only build websites with a WordPress content management system and the Elementor visual page builder plugin. If you're glued to a non-WordPress platform, unfortunately it's very unlikely that we'd be able to work together.
We love to chat about all the benefits of WordPress for a growing brand, and we're pretty open about the drawbacks too. If you want to know more about our technologies, you can check out the full list or drop us a message/call if you'd like to hear more.
Our website design projects require a 50% deposit at the time of booking, and the full balance settled before a website goes online or within 6 months of the agreed project start date. Some of our clients choose to break down the final 50% over multiple payments, which is a-ok with us.
If you have a schedule in mind, e.g. splitting into equal monthly amounts, this can be discussed following an initial project consultation.
Our website uses cookies for analytics, styling, and functional purposes. By accepting cookies, you'll get the best version of our website - and we'll be able to process some of your data to make that happen.
