Website retainers for longterm optimisation

Management, content, SEO, & updates

Every website needs some monthly attention to remain up-to-date, looking great, impressing visitors, and – most importantly – staying competitive.

And yep, you can probably totally handle some monthly website management in-house. However, if you’d prefer to get these tasks off your to-do list, and on to our expert to-do lists instead – we’d love to help.

Cultivate

£750
monthly (ex VAT)
For ever-evolving ecommerce websites

Choose the Cultivate Package to progress your website with your business, keeping your new additions in tip-top shape, and continually optimising and adding content in-line with seasons, trends, and gifting.

Our custom report combines stats from Google Analytics and Google Search Console to track your website performance from month to month. This helps us identify wins and opportunities, provides insights, and allows us to allocate more time to the website work with the biggest pay off.

A 30-45 minute session every month with your client manager to dig into to your activity, review performance, share ideas, and plan your monthly website activity.

We keep an eye on seasonal and trending ecommerce topics for your industry and audience to influence your website content (and you can totally use these across your other marketing channels too).

We’ll create around 5-10 new product collections every month – complete with short and long descriptions – to create SEO-rich ecommerce landing pages.

Product badges like “new in”, “just 5 left”, “Christmas pick”, or “as seen on Gardeners’ World” help add a little more convincing info to your product feeds – each month we’ll review, edit and add the product badges your customers want.

Big images and videos can kill your SEO, which is why our monthly retainers cover a little time to check over every new file uploaded, to make sure it’s thoroughly optimised.

It’s always best to start by uploading an optimised image or video, but think of this as an extra SEO safety net.

(PS. we never charge clients for bulk optimising these files for your website, so you can totally send us your shoots and we’ll handle everything.)

Whether it’s adding new menus, seasonal updates, tweaks, changes, or adding new categories and collections, we’ll keep your ecommerce mega menus thoroughly optimised.

This is our signature content optimisation routine. We’ll comb through your 5 newest products, 5 best sellers, 5 undersellers (products that aren’t performing to your expectations) and 5 seasonal products.

This review includes proofreading, image optimisation, SEO titles & descriptions, category/collection management, product description tweaks, and seasonal content additions.

The bitty SEO jobs always fall to the bottom of the to-do list, well – not anymore. We’ll fill in page titles, descriptions, image alt text, category/collection descriptions – working through every darn page and product on your website.

It’s the most boring of testing, but probably the most essential. We’ll test all of your forms and your basket/checkout to make sure everything is working as it should, and to keep an eye out for chances to improve your customer experience.

Your home page shouldn’t go for more than a month without a fresh pair of eyes looking for typos, broken links, inconsistencies, and off-season content. Well, we’d love to provide those eyes for ya.

Want your home page updated each month? That seems like a great use of your flexible website time…

Core Web Vitals is a Google search metric that monitors vital web performance factors.

Well, we monitor it back – and take action to tweak, fix, update, and improve your website on the back of its recommendations.

This hour of website design & content retainer can be used for whatever you want or need – new features, performance updates, new content – and we’ll make suggestions based on your activity and goals too.

What’s more, this time can be rolled over for up to 3 months allowing you to pool time for slightly larger jobs, like new templates and landing pages.

Every third monthly meeting is more of a strategy check in with both your client manager and Studio Cotton founder, Aime. It’s a chance to look at the bigger picture, and potentially pop some more ambitious updates on the plan.

And as the extra cherry on top – you won’t need to worry about an extra invoice for your website hosting & maintenance. The Cultivate Package includes our Maintain plan, and keeps billing a little more simple.

Blogging is the most reliable activity for increasing website traffic and impressions, and we’re dang good at it. Blogging isn’t included in our Cultivate package, but you can choose a frequency for a custom SEO-boosting, value-sharing add-on.

  • Every other month +£180
  • One per month +£350
  • Two per month +£620
  • Ad-hoc articles +£375

Enrich

£950
monthly (ex VAT)
For competitive, content-driven websites

Choose the Enrich package if you’re after a super-competitive SEO-rich website that attracts traffic, generates enquiries, and allows you to show off your best work and valuable expertise.

Our custom report combines stats from Google Analytics and Google Search Console to track your website performance from month to month. This helps us identify wins and opportunities, provides insights, and allow us to allocate more time to the website work with the biggest pay off.

Longform content gives you the best chance of increase how often and how highly your website ranks. Each month we’ll create two new pieces for your website – blog articles, case studies, or sales pages (and yep, you can mix it up).

We will make recommendations based on your business goals and opportunities.

As well as enriching your website with new content, we’ll also carefully upload and proofread/edit any content uploaded in house – making sure every page and post works hard for your SEO.

We always recommend putting together a bank of professional-quality brand imagery, but even we sometimes need to rely on stock photography to find the perfect visual for a piece of content.

We’ll source your appropriately-licensed stock imagery, and make any necessary tweaks or edits to make sure it’s in-line with your brand.

Big images and videos can kill your SEO, which is why our monthly retainers cover a little time to check over every new file uploaded and make sure it’s thoroughly optimised.

It’s always best to start by uploading an optimised image or video, but think of this as an extra SEO safety net.

(PS. we never charge clients for bulk optimising these files for your website, so you can totally send us your shoots and we’ll handle everything)

Each month we’ll focus on a different sales or service page to ensure it’s still in line with SEO best practice, as well as saturating with SEO keywords and increasing your content specificity and relevance. We’ll even add in new sections and calls to action if needed.

This is our signature content optimisation routine. We’ll comb through your 5 newest pieces of content, 5 most visited, 5 under performers (pages that aren’t performing to your expectations) and 5 seasonal articles/pages.

What you need to know about website retainers

Almost an FAQ section

Each month kicks off with either a call or Slack check in with your client manager, Cai. We’ll agree any focus areas, topics, additions, acitivities, and features, and keep those tracked in an easily accessible Slack Canvas.

You can still pop in more requests and questions as the month continues, and we’ll let you know if we need to bump something else to fit within the current package.

Both our Cultivate and Enrich website retainer packages are available as a monthly contract with a 3 month minimum commitment, plus a notice period of one calendar month for any changes or cancellations.
