All the projects we’ve completed in 2024

Cai Burton
Client Manager
Cai spends less time blogging and more time helping clients with their websites at Studio Cotton

Another year, another lovely bunch of new websites, blog posts, lattes (or mochas) and SEO questions answered from a load of small business owners and podcasters.

2024 was a tale of two halves with months where projects were all on top of each other, then periods where delays meant that things slowed down a bit. But I like to think that it’s averaged out across the year, actually completing even more projects than last year. (not that it’s a competition)

It also felt like the year of blogging which has kept Lyzi, our Content Producer, busy writing lots of brilliant blogs, articles and content for our clients. So it’s up to me to write this year’s round up. Let’s dive into all the projects that our website design company completed in 2024.

Building your Brand

New Podcast Website

We've been harping on about podcast websites for a while and when Liz Mosley agreed to let us build her the baddest, flashiest, SEO-iest website we could for her podcast, we rolled up our sleeves to deliver for her.

And we've got a LOT to love about this one. From a service page that's directed towards getting sponsors for her podcast (and has helped her already secure sponsorship since launching) to dedicated pre and post episode briefing for guests.

We've maximised her SEO with unique episode collections and podcast pages that are filled with data that Google is gonna love.

Not to mention an affiliate linked reading list and a bank of recommendations to help Liz build her backlinks and become a website force to be reckoned with.

You can bet we were super proud to show this off at The Podcast Show 2024, but more on that later...

Southwest-England-Fibreshed-Studio-Cotton-Website-2024-

South West England Fibreshed

New Small Business Website

It seems we love a project that incorporates yarn, knitting and fibre, because we helped South West England Fibreshed to create a website for their network of producers. They have about 30 members in their network, and provide a lot of guides and resources for all things fibre.

We built them a small website that ended up with all the bells and whistles on too, incorporating a map of their network, a bank of resources and ecommerce for their guides.

Studio Cotton IRL Events

2024 saw the return of the Studio Cotton Website Clinics! On the first Friday of the month, we've been holding these drop in sessions to pick Aime's brain, work on your website and sip on delicious lattes.

Our first session of 2025 will be on Friday 7th February in our newly renovated office!

Follow us on Eventbrite to stay in the loop for future events.

Georgia-B-Designs-Studio-Cotton-Website-2024-

Georgia B Designs

New Ecommerce Website

Georgia B is an illustrator who makes sublime stationery and prints that are bold, modern and colourful.

Naturally, we wanted her website to reflect that, so we built an ecommerce website chocka full of gradients and design features that help her products shine, in particular her range of Zodiac pieces.

oh-squirrel-website-design-studio-cotton

Oh Squirrel

New Ecommerce Website

Katie Tasić, founder of Oh Squirrel said that she's always known she was going to get Studio Cotton to build her website, so we were thrilled to seal the deal just in time for Christmas.

Oh Squirrel is a gift and stationery shop based in Walthamstow, specialising in the cutest hand written ribbons, cards and designs.

With lots of fun details: from gingham to scallops to personalised handwriting, her finished website has Oh Squirrel written all over it.

Meloca-Designs-Blogs-Studio-Cotton-2024

Meloca Designs

Blog posts for SEO

I never expected to learn so much about cross stitching or diamond painting, but over the past year we've created 26 blog posts for Meloca Designs.

With everything from crafting techniques to interviews with cross stitchers to FlossTube too, we've helped her sell cross stitch and diamond painting kits and patterns through regular blogging.

And taking a look at that graph, you can see the ma-hoosive impact it's had on her SEO - total clicks up by 2k, and impressions 100k up over 6 months.

One & Eight-Website-studio-cotton-2024

One & Eight

Digital Merchandising for SEO

After launching their new website last year, we've been working with Devon-based jewellers One & Eight to focus on their search engine optimisation for their sustainable and minimal jewellery.

From creating seasonal collections for products, to building custom mega menus to brand new pages, we've been taking a look at all aspects of website.

Lauren-Aston-Designs-Studio-Cotton-Website-2024

The Claudia Winkleman Jumper with Lauren Aston Designs

Digital Merchandising for SEO

After the UK fell in love with Claudia Winkleman's style on The Traitors last year, we witnessed first hand the effect it could have on our small business clients.

Lauren Aston Designs had created an iconic jumper for Claudia and orders were piling in.

We worked with the LAD team to help ensure their website could cope with demand and maximise on the boost in traffic from a savvy stylist by adding in custom products, maximising their homepage, and creating additional blog content.

Desynit-Studio-Cotton-Website-2024

Desynit

New Small Business Website

When Bristol based tech company Desynit finally approached us for a re-design of their website, Aime was well excited.

Not just because it meant she got to get her teeth stuck into creating some excellent dedicated service pages, a bunch of local SEO terms and highlighting their friendly team.

But because we could update a website that hadn't changed since Alex (Studio Cotton Co-Owner and Husband of Aime) worked there in 2013.

After updating their branding for web use, we created a fresh website highlighting the work Desynit do integrating Salesforce into systems for other businesses.

Starling-Red-Studio-Cotton-Website-2024-

Starling Red

New Small Business Website

When you ask us to make a simple, one page website, then we try our freaking hardest to maximise every ounce of SEO we can in that one page.

Starling Red have a super niche service - offering maintenance to the residents of Battersea Power Station, so you can bet that was plastered all over the super simple website we built with them.

Outside The Podcast Show at at London Islington's Business Design Centre

The Podcast Show

Studio Cotton Outing

2024 saw us venture out the office to our very first trade show for Studio Cotton - The Podcast Show.

We learnt a heap there about making podcasts, monetising your content and how to grow your audience. But most importantly we put our stand design skills to the test, with our cosy pink corner of Islington's Business Design Centre.

This conference gave us so much knowledge of the podcasting world as well as introducing us to a load of new podcasters/podcast businesses to help grow our network. Plus, of course, a couple of podcast appearances as a result of the show.

Handmade-Design-Website-Studio-Cotton-2024

Handmade Design Ashbourne

New Ecommerce Website

If you know me, you know I love a nosey in a cute independent shop. So when Laura (owner of Handmade Design Ashbourne) secured some funding to vamp up her website for their artisan store selling local crafts, we were happy to help.

Making the website for Handmade Design Ashbourne felt just as cosy as visiting the shop, but we managed to come up with some fun features including a makers directory, a vendor log in portal and a way to measure a maker's distance from the shop!

Rebecca-Broad-Studio-Cotton-Website-2024-

Rebecca Broad Communications

New Small Business Website

We work with a lot of lovely clients but Rebecca actually makes it her thing to be a lovely person to work with.

She offers social media, content and communications strategy, and we helped her make a website that was filled with excellent content, solid SEO principles, and, well, lots of green.

Karakorum-Blogs-Studio-Cotton-2024

Karakorum

Blog Posts for SEO

Karakorum sell ethical and fair trade homeware and products - from the most beautiful lanterns to intricately woven baskets.

We worked with Natasha in 2024 to create 7 blog posts to tell the world about the incredible products Karakorum sells, with a spotlight on the incredible makers and artisans from Africa.

So we're fairly chuffed to spot that her impressions have doubled since we worked on her blog posts with her clicks up by 1.5K over 6 months.

Tab-x-Tab-Studio-Cotton-Website-2024-jpg

TAB X TAB

New Ecommerce Website

What's that? A fancy coffee shop and brunch spot knocking on our door for a fresh new website?

Of course we were happy to oblige creating a website for TAB x TAB - a contemporary independent brunch café in West London - and filling it with lots of juicy brunch SEO Keywords.

Shorkk-Website-Studio-Cotton

Shorkk

Website Updates and Optimisation

We helped out our local Bristol based Lebanese ingredient supplier Shorkk with a couple of fixes on the website, as well as optimising the homepage and product page to better spotlight the tasty and sustainably sourced food and treats that they sell.

Baa-Wool-Studio-Cotton-Website-2024-Desktop

Baa!

New Ecommerce Website

Baa is a small wool shop in Stonehaven, Scotland, and after they got some slick new branding from Liz Mosely, we were brought in to put it into action on their new website.

It turns out, the categorisation of Yarn is quite complex, but in the end we were able to work out a system to allow seasoned knitters to find the hyper specific yarn they were after, and less precious knitters to not have to worry about all the extra details.

Uashmama-Blogs-Studio-Cotton-2024

Uashmama

Blog Posts for SEO

Italian family run business Uashmama design and create washable paper bags and homeware accessories.

This year, Jill from their UK team has called on us to helping them create blog content about sustainability and interiors. We've been working closely with her on everything from styling your laundry room to accessorising your New Year's Eve outfits.

In particular, we absolutely dominated the Italian secret Santa gift ideas scene, with over 5000 impressions since we posted it, and almost 150 people heading to the Uashmama online shop from that article alone.

Karakorum-Website-Studio-Cotton

Karakorum Homepage

Website updates and optimisation

They're back for more - along with their blogs, we helped Karakorum refresh their homepage and product archive with a streamlined new look, spotlighting their fair trade and ethical homewares and getting plenty of SEO wins on their website.

Daisy-Lane-Floral-Design-Website-Studio-Cotton-2024

Daisy Lane Floral Design

New Ecommerce and Service Website

We wanted to make sure that everything on Emily's new website for Daisy Lane Floral Design was juuuuust right before making it live, but we were thrilled to be able to launch her new website just in time to promote her wreath making workshops before Christmas.

With a new website featuring updated visuals, case studies from weddings and an ecommerce for a local bouquet delivery service, we were proper proud of this one.

Joyful Design-Website-Studio-Cotton-2024

Joyful Design

New Small Business Website

Oh hello - it's me!

When I first started at Studio Cotton, I told Aime that I wasn't very good at designing websites. However since then, I've built and launched my own updated website!

I can't claim to be a pro, but I've definitely come a long way. Putting all the SEO and website skills I've learnt into practice, I've created a website for my illustration, coaching and workshops services.

Machine-Knit-Website-Studio-cotton

Machine Knit Community

Blog Posts for SEO

Nic and Steve, founders of Machine Knit Community, started off as a member of the Studio Cotton Clubhouse getting advice on their website.

They eventually took the plunge, working with us on some blog content to help promote their own community for machine knitters and provide insightful and informative information about how to knit with a machine.

Christine-Designs-Website-Studio-Cotton-2024

Christine Designs Content

SEO Page content

Getting information out there for Toronto-based designer Christine was top of the list for creating the content on her VIP Design Day service. We worked with her to create new copy for this web page and refine the content that was already there.

As a result, we've created a more streamlined page that painted a beautiful picture of the service Christine offers.

African-Stays-Website-Studio-Cotton-2024-

African Stays

New Small Business Website

One project that always made me want to go on holiday was working with African Stays on their new website. African Stays help people find accommodation, experiences, attractions and events across the whole continent of Africa, that's more than just your typical expectation.

Building them a new beautiful website to match the lovely branding package we received was just as important as making their filters, listings and blogs work effectively for their website.

In-Remembrance-Studio-Cotton-Website-2024

In Remembrance

New Ecommerce Website

Of course Melissa's memorial keepsakes, decorations and jewellery are going to be popular - it's just so beautiful and poignant.

It was only natural that when she moved from MW Studio to In Remembrance, focussing in on her memorial products, she had a lovely website to match.

We worked with her to build a brand new website that spotlighted the new focus for her business.

Make-Lemonade-Workshops-Website-Studio-Cotton-2024

Make Lemonade

SEO Page Content

Long time friend and floral designer Rachel from Make Lemonade first came to us in 2022 for a consultation. We told her that if she wanted to create floral displays for companies like Netflix, she should write it on her website. So she did exactly that. We were chuffed when in May 2023, Netflix Canada's PR team reached out to her saying that her website "literally spoke to them".

So last year, we worked with Rachel to write some additional service pages for her to pick up on extra terms for workshops and brand activations in Toronto.

pine-and-bear-website-studio-cotton-2024

Pineandbear

SEO Product Descriptions

Pineandbear make the most lovely pennant flags, patches, and camping accessories using vintage techniques.

We worked with her to make her product descriptions sparkle a little more, bringing to life the unique vintage skills that she uses to make her products.

Lyzi Unwin-Website-Studio-Cotton-2024

Lyzi Unwin

New Blogging Website

Since 2024 was the year that blogging really came back, we wanted to make sure Lyzi had everything she needed as a blogger and content writer to thrive. So over the past few years in the background, we've been helping her build a brand new website to show off her talented skills with words.

And you can bet she'd probably write that better than I did too.

Not only is her new website filled with her lovely writing, but it's designed to improve her SEO and be a delight to read.

We don’t always brag about our completed projects as much as we could, so it’s nice to have the opportunity to shout about a bunch of fun things we’re proud of. It’d be even better to shout about all the cool things we did that that aren’t live yet too, but those will have to wait for this year.

Here’s to another year of great websites from Studio Cotton.
