I don’t know why I’m writing this bit because it’s probably going to get deleted (Aime hates praise) but one of the many things that Studio Cotton is brilliant at is search engine optimisation (SEO).
Which makes sense, right? It’s a huge part of website design – you don’t want a small business website that just looks pretty, you want a small business website that looks pretty and does the job.
So SEO is a key part of web design, blogging is a key part of SEO, and seasons are a big part of blogging, and that’s how we land where we are right now: a big ol’ listicle of seasons, occasions and times that you could blog about, to capitalise on their timely nature and a spike in searches.
(Want more listicle inspiration? Here’s a listicle about listicle ideas and a listicle of winter content topics and they’re full of solid gold.)
For each occasion, you’ll see an explanation, and an example following the NASALS approach to writing really good blog titles. I’ve tried to find real examples of blogs wherever possible and have suggested some ideas for the rest.
Start from the top, pick your favourite number and jump in there (you picked your birthday, didn’t you?) or, if you’re feeling particularly zany, you can start from the bottom and scroll backwards.
When to publish seasonal blog content
Studio Cotton content producer Lyzi made this very good point in that NASALS blog that I’ll just repeat again here: you want to publish seasonal content on your blog at least 6-8 weeks before the actual event itself – or 6-8 weeks before people shop for these events, in the case of gift-buying.
How to apply these to your business
As I write this, Aime has just shared something in the Studio Cotton Clubhouse that I think is pertinent to this very topic, and that’s how to decide what to blog about for your business.
The more your blog post is related to what you offer, the more likely it is to reach the people who care about what you offer, and then the more likely it is to turn visitors into customers. Ya know?
Now let’s make like a criminally underrated 00’s Disney Movie starring Corbin Bleu and Keke Palmer and jump in.
