Looking for a last-minute Christmas stocking filler for your favourite small business founder friend (or maybe some new stationery that’ll definitely help you be more organised in 2025)?

The humble to do notepad might be your best bet – non-dated, versatile little planners that can be used for getting that work or personal admin list out of your head and into action. After all, what’s more motivating than being able to physically tick off those tasks?

Here are some absolutely gorj notepads that we found from indie stationery businesses in the UK, which would make really lovely Christmas gifts for the business owner in your life.

The Werk Block by Papersmiths

In the words of Rihanna, werk werk werk werk werk-werk.

This is a perfectly simple "biscuit pink" pad, with very pleasing font at the top. Use the margins for times, numbers, ticks - whatever you dang want.

The A6 pad has 50 sheets made of 80% recycled fibres.

Focus Desk Pad by MiGoals

MiGoals make very nice stationery, and this to do pad is no different. The minimal and chic design allows you to separate your to-dos into 4 sections, including a "don't do" - which really tickled me.

Aime swears this to-do list is the only one that's ever kept her organised (and trust me, that's saying something!)

With 50 FSC certified pages that are between A5 and A4 size (B5), this roomy to do list pad is great for those with busy working days.

To Do Or Else by Badger & Burke

Sometimes you need to be threatened to get things done, and boy, does this cat look scary. I wouldn't want to be in their bad-books.

The cosy pink paper takes the edge off slightly, and I love the hand-drawn nature of the tickboxes and lines too.

You get 65 sheets of FSC certified paper in this notepad - that's a whole lot of to dos.

S**t I'll Forget Desk Pad by Twin Pines

Twin Pines describes this notepad as "the perfect stationery gift for the forgetful and the brutally honest," and, well, they're right.

We have the pink version floating around the Studio Cotton workspace for when someone needs a more aggressive to-do list.

It might not be suitable for all offices, but if you work from home, there'll be no one else around to get offended by the naughty words on this 50-sheet A5 notepad.

Less doo-doo, more to-do, amirite gang?

Do It Today Notepad by Oh, Laura

Oh, Laura makes lots of fun stationery, including some really cute stickers, cards and notebooks.

But we're here to talk about to do notepads, of which she has many in her trademark style: handwriting and pastel colours.

This A6 notepad is a reminder to do it today, otherwise you'll have to do it tomorrow - something I really need to keep in mind...

Cottagecore Planner Pad by Unicorn Eclipse

This was a suggestion from Studio Cotton Clubhouse member Abby Munro who runs Paper + Word, an online shop specialising in gifts for book lovers.

Abby stocks lots of cute notepads to get you through your working days, but this one was my favourite, with the lovely toadstools and lil frog to keep you company, and various sections for your to dos.

Good Day To Do Pad by Finest Imagery

The cheeriest little notepad ever (I checked), full of smiles, and a bargainous £4. It's a dinky A6 size with 50 sheets.

I reckon the Good Day to do pad could brighten up even the most mundane of tasks.

While you're here I'd check out the other planner pads and notepads by Finest Imagery, because they're all so lovely.

You Got This To Do List Pad by Good Tuesday

Good Tuesday have a gorgeous array of to do list pads, it was tricky to choose which one to feature... but I think this one just about pips the others to the (blog) post. A very close second place is the delightfully straight-up Pink & Red pad.

These colours makes your to do lists feel more joyful, plus having the top priorities of the day in their own clear section is super helpful.

This to do notepad has 50 100% recycled paper pages.

Spots & Stripes Daily Planner Pad by The Completist

The Completist make really lovely contemporary stationery - there's not a single design that I wouldn't love to have adorning my desk.

The A5 Daily Planner Pad includes a to do list, a bit to plan your day out with times, and a little section for notes/tomorrow too. There are 50 pages of FSC-certified paper and vegetable inks.

It comes in different colours/patterns too, or there's a more basic to do list pad if that's more your thing.

The Day Pad by Crispin Finn

"This one is compact, which forces me to use neater handwriting," says Studio Cotton founder Aime.

I love the bold red and blue ink together - a staple feature in all Crispin Finn designs - and the practical to do sections.

If this one isn't your vibe, check out the Crispin Finn pads collection, where you'll find more bold designs.

Things To Do Book by Present & Correct

Present & Correct is probably my favourite stationery shop, and they have an amazing Instagram profile too, where they share really cool vintage stationery finds, and other interesting things.

This spiral-bound notepad has 100 pages and is roughly A4 when open, which is the best way to use it, due to the different functions of the pages.

Colourful To Do List by Olive & Mabel

Well this is a jolly little to do list, isn't it?

If you like to keep your daily to do list concise (please can you tell me how to do that?) this short and sweet notepad fits the bill perfectly.

There are 50 tear-off FSC certified paper pages in this A6 notepad, so that should keep you busy for a lil while.

Paperian Lifepad Daily A5 Planner

This is a very swanky little daily planning tool, complete with schedule, to do list, notes, and there are even weather options to circle - this notepad has got it all. AND it's pink.

If you prefer things way more minimal, Paperian also make a basic To Do Memo Pad, which has a lined list with checkboxes.

My Day Desk Pad by Hello Time

Not only does this notepad have a to do list and notes section, there's also an inspirational quote to get you going, and a space to write your goals or intentions for the day, to keep you on track.

There's no fuss to this 50-page notepad - the monochrome design is super sleek and straight to the point.

Ooh, I Love a Good List Notepad by Oh Squirrel

We couldn't not include a notepad from our recent web design client, Oh Squirrel - go and take a look if you love beautiful handwriting, bows and gingham (and even if you don't, it's a lovely website to browse).

I absolutely can't cope with the suggestions of what to use this notepad for - "the shopping list, what you've got to do that day, or all the people you fancy" - perfect.

Mini Shapes To Do Pad by The Stationer

The Stationer is a really lovely shop, stocking their own products alongside other brands' stationery. This is one of their own designs, available in yellow or pink.

I absolutely love the delicately printed shapes across the top of this to do pad, the simple lined design with tick boxes, and the dotted area at the bottom, which would be perfect for those daily doodles that probably really help your productivity levels.

Colourful Lines To-Do Notepad by Fin Studio

We love this subtle-but-vibrant to do notepad, with different coloured lines, and fun shapes for tick boxes, which echo the shapes used in number 18! Gosh, I planned this well.

Designed and made in their studio in Hertford, where Ozge and Anil started making their own stationery because they couldn't find notebooks they liked - their whole range is playful and colourful, so if that's your vibe, check 'em out.

Oh, Laura To Do List Bingo

A bonus one that doesn't technically follow the guidelines that were given to me for this blog post, but d'ya know what? I'm the one writing this blog post, and I love this super fun bingo notepad.

If you're all about getting a reward when you've completed tasks (like me), this would be an awesome little incentive - there's space to write a prize for completing a line or full house.

Oh my goodness, if that hasn’t got you excited to get organised, then I’m not sure what will. I for one have added approximately 10 notebooks to my wishlist, even though I already have a box full of empty ones upstairs.

If you’re looking for some tasks to write on your new to do list pad, have a look at the Studio Cotton blog for loads of small business website advice or browse the Studio Cotton Instagram grid for easily-digestible actions.
