We absolutely love sharing helpful small business tips and advice on the Studio Cotton blog, but guess what? We’re not the only ones doin’ it – there are a bunch of other small businesses sharing helpful tidbits on their blogs.

With a little help from a couple of our Studio Cotton Clubhouse members (thanks Bridie and Becky!) and our pal Liz from Building Your Brand podcast sharing some of her amazing contacts, we’ve made a shortlist.

We figured that if you love us, you’ll probably love these guys too. Get your bookmarking fingers at the ready.

On her blog she shares all kinds of tips and advice for online shops, like marketing ideas, email templates, how to boost sales, and lots more.

Eleanor Mollie

This messaging mentor otherwise known as Ellie Kime helps small business owners explain who they are and what they do. She also writes bangin' blogs for us sometimes.

On her blog she shares small business copywriting advice for creative types, with big hits such as whether to write your bio in third person, bits about personal brands, and whether to say f*** on your website or not.

You might've heard of Catherine Erdly, as she's featured in previous blog posts of ours, like 6 success-killing features of a bad podcast pitch. She's a small business consultant, independent retail expert and membership-host.

In her blog posts, she shares the latest tips and information to help small businesses and retail brands flourish, like foolproof sales plans, retail strategies, and email marketing tools.

Sophie helps introverted, creative small business owners find confidence, clarity and consistency. As you can probably tell from that description, she's a very lovely human.

She uses her blog to share insights and pep talks, so there are posts about how to do marketing on your own terms, overcoming the fear of visibility, and great advice from other creatives too.

Bonnie flippin' loves words - she's obsessed! Which is a good thing, considering she works as a content and copywriter for a living.

On her blog she shares some of her wordy wisdom and copywriting tips, alongside super important things like avoiding greenwashing, authentically showing you're an LGBTQ+ inclusive business, and whether you should post political content.

Emma is a very talented personal brand photographer and videographer, who also has a background in marketing, which is evident in both her photography work and her blog.

She shares great advice like how to refresh your brand, marketing strategies, the benefits of collaborations, and a whole bunch more.

Our very own Studio Cotton founder Aime has been featured in one of Emma's blogs - 5 website accessibility essentials for small business owners.

Hannah is a marketing whizz, offering small business owners a content course, a marketing membership and lots of handy digital marketing products and templates.

You might've also heard of her book, The Best 90 Days Ever - how 10-minute marketing can transform your business one day at a time.

She has hundreds of blog posts and how-to guides full of useful marketing advice for businesses, like making social media content creation easier, newsletter advice, and how to be consistent in your marketing.

Vicki is another lovely branding photographer, who shares advice on her blog like posing tips, identifying your core values, and lessons she's learned as a small business owner (plus her hot takes on bad advice about personal branding).

Aside from taking nice photos and writing helpful words, Vicki has a podcast about branding called Showing Up, has a personal brand course, and a retreat too.

Angela Lyons is a freelance graphic designer, and recently started Creatives Like Us podcast, which is about "breaking down barriers and showing that a successful career in the creative industry is possible for everyone."

Her blog is packed with advice about being freelance, using stock photography, and of course, tips for design elements like fonts and brand photoshoots.

Astrid helps small business owners, freelancers and creatives with structure and consistency, through courses, workshops and more.

She has a blog where she shares tips for marketing, making sales, and being confident in your small business, with a focus on being "slow, gentle and profitable".

She's on Substack too, which she treats as a newsletter, but also has some long-form content only available to paid subscribers.

Therese at Small Business Collaborative helps product businesses be more profitable, with courses, 1:1 mentoring, and free resources, like templates, her podcast, newsletter, and of course, her blog.

On the blog you'll find advice on long-lasting business relationships, how to handle slow periods, and exhibiting at trade shows - and it's all branded beautifully, I can't get enough of that font and those colours - yum.

Liz is an email marketing whizz, and from what I gather, a super colourful bundle of energy too.

You probably already know how we feel about email marketing (TL;DR: it's the tits), and Liz offers workshops, templates, and a $9 membership to help you nail it.

On her blog she shares (you guessed it) free email marketing advice, such as best practices, tools for beginners, and list building strategies.

Inkwell is a content agency, founded by Chris Goodfellow, and their aim is to create compelling content that makes an impact and lasts, rather than adding to the clutter.

Their blog is packed with marketing trends, tips on building interest in your live event, TOV guidelines, email marketing and advice for startups - it's a great read.

This one feels a little different to the rest that we've listed, as it's an interiors-focussed blog for small businesses.

Studio SK is an interior design company run by Sabrine, who's aim is to create beautiful, pragmatic spaces for independent businesses.

On her blog you'll find inspiring interiors (there's even a post on the old Studio Cotton office), tips on how to incorporate furniture and artwork into your space, and updating your decor on a budget.

We met Mark at The Podcast Show last year, and whilst his blog covers tonnes of subject matter, there are some good articles on the business of podcasting.

Mark is a maker and producer who's had his fingers in many digital pies over the years, from working on the first service that let you embed tweets into web pages, to viral music videos, to helping others with podcasting.

Founder Simeon blogs about brand campaigns, using humour in marketing, and discussing trends - I really enjoyed the deep-dive into the rise of "messy" branding, with the likes of brat summer and authentic vibes being more popular than polished ads.

Jason is another person we met at The Podcast Show. He's a podcast producer, working on audio, visual, and social content too.

On his "highly opinionated podcasting blog" (his words, not mine) he shares loads of great advice, so if you're thinking of going into podcasting for your business or you already do, this is a great one to check out.

He sheds light on how podcasts can grow your brand, the best microphones, launching your podcast, and loads more.

Email marketing strategy genius Eman is the person to call when you want to make money from your emails.

Her blog is "the place where you get free access to all [her] copy secrets and business strategies" - there you'll find excellent tips, as well as teardowns of emails sent out by some of the biggest companies in the world, looking at what they do well (which you could use in your marketing) and what they do... not so well.

Phewwwww that was a long list, wasn’t it?
